As women get older, one of the major cosmetic problems they face is varicose veins. Varicose veins are those unsightly, larger than normal, blue veins that appear on your legs. If you are lucky enough not to have them yet, here are a few tips for preventing them in the future:
1. Stay active. Keeping your legs active helps to boost circulation and keeps the blood from pooling in the veins.
2. Avoid exposing your legs to excessive heat. Make sure bath water is not too hot. The heat from the water can cause blood to pool in the vessels in your legs.
3. Watch your weight. Excessive weight can put pressure on your legs causing the veins to come to the surface.
Hi Leslie,
Great tips. Also, one thing I do and try to remember NOT to do is cross my legs all day. I try to make a conscious effort not to do it. It cuts off circulation in your legs and can't be good for those veins.
Take care,
Talia
